Little Dogs of Rogers Kennel
|
Hi - and thank you for visiting my Little Dogs Page. Even though we primarily to keep the
puppies that we raise and the adults that we keep here on site socialized with small dogs,
we have several pair of "Lap Dogs".
Let me tell you a true story about our AKC Champion AmStaff "BJ" and that should
explain why we have Little Dogs.
When "BJ" was growing up, he was so black (I do mean black - shiney black) that when I
bought him stuffed animals, I always bought white ones. I could wash and bleach them
and not worry about them fading, because they were white. Well, we were at an AKC
Conformation Show in Ocala, FL, and the Bichons were showing in the show ring directly
beside the AmStaffs. BJ thought those Bichons were his toys from home and thought he
should go get them - Luckily our handler had good control and convinced BJ that he
should not pursue his toys - but go into the show ring instead. LOL
On the way home I called a good friend of mine in N.C. and bought a pair of Bichons and
they became his good buddies. So along and along, as times have changed - I have
bought a pair of pekingese and 2 pair of Chihuahuas - because if an adult AmStaf can
get along with Chihuahuas - he/she can get along with any breed of dog - whether they
are 10 feet tall and bulletproof or not. LOL
Again, we were at a dog show, this time in Montgomery, ALA where Angel won Best of
Breed and we were introduced to the Miniature Schnauzers. I thought to myself that
would be a wonderful breed to have (not show) and kept that in the back of my mind for
several years before actually buying Little Buddy. Now Little Buddy is 5 pounds of pure
dynamite and we fell so in love with him that I began calling breeders in the south eastern
U.S. until I found a breeder that I liked and she had small (really small) parents. From
there we have now added them to our breeding program and actually have 3 pairs of
them. You can see them on our Miniature Schnauzer page.

The picture above is very special to me. This is a picture of Tiny Tim (the red and white 2 3/4 pound AKC Chihuahua) and my old pit bull, Diamond, who is now 10 years old and just as spry and lively as she was as a puppy. This picture was taken in October, 2009. They are best buds and nobody can mess with little "Tiny Tim" when she is around.

The two beautiful dogs belong to
Candy Lloyd - both dogs I bred. The
male Pekingese that is adorable.
These are real dogs in these pictures -
real examples of "good dogs with good
temperaments and good dispositions"
living in homes with everyday normal
people.
This is Tundra - keeping that couch
warm.
This is Tiny Tim sitting in front and our
cat "Tabby". Now isn't that the most
original name for a cat you have ever
heard. LOL They drag those blankets
around until they get them just the way
they want them and then take them a
much needed nap after that hard day's
work they put in. LOL It is hard work
giving out all that sugar.
